Agrinurture, Inc. (ANI) traces its humble beginnings in 1997 as a trader of post-harvest agricultural machineries that helped improve the productivity of and income of rural Filipino farmers. Formerly known as Mabuhay 2000 Enterprises, Inc., it eventually diversified into various agro-commercial businesses and has become one of the country’s top fresh mango exporters to the world markets.
ANI’s group continued to widen its operations in line with pursuing its vision to be a global leader in providing nourishment from farm to plate. As a result, ANI’s breadth of operations has consequently expanded and provided a strategic advantage hinged on the synergy of all business activities from farming, manufacturing, trading, and domestic/international distribution and retail franchise operations. This unique and competitive agri-business model is complemented by purposive Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) initiatives that help address pressing concerns about climate change, workers welfare, community protection and related concerns.
Venturing into the retail business in 2011 was ANI’s main vehicle to fulfill its vision of recasting its business structure from adopting a purely farm to market trading business model into a “farm to plate” based concept.
ANI’s family of brands includes FCA (Fresh Choice Always) for fresh and processed wellness of food products and La Natural and Aqua Coco for coconut juice, all of which are exported; Sungrown rice; Superfresh and Big Chill for fresh fruit beverages and dessert kiosks; and Cafeteria Verde, Fresh Bar by Big Chill, and C’Verde by Big Chill for healthy snack bar and cafeteria.
Antonio L. Tiu, Chairman of the Board and the majority shareholder of ANI, finds fulfilment in the fact that he has the capacity to help farmers and the public in general in any way that he and his companies can. “We do not give for the sake of giving. What we give is a foundation – something that will give people dignity . . . the capacity to realize their dreams so they do not have to ask anymore and instead build their own future in a better environment” says Tiu.
